Bachelor In Paradise is over halfway through its 10-episode season 9. With eight stars out of the luxurious Mexican location, things are getting heated and messy as love triangles begin to form. The latest romance complication came courtesy of Kat Izzo and Olivia Lewis, who were both vying for John Henry Spurlock’s heart. We all get nervous when it comes to dating but Kat’s habit is frustrating viewers more than expected.

One BIP fan was so distracted by Kat’s frequent hair-touching that they took to the platform in complaint.

A user responded: “They are too self-aware of how they look on camera. I know that’s the way it is, but BIP would be more fun to watch if people were less camera-aware. The few who don’t make sure their facial expressions are on point are the most interesting to watch.”

According to Healthline, hair-twirling is a way of self-soothing to calm anxiety or nervousness. More severe cases can lead to trichotillomania, a mental health condition that causes the overwhelming urge to pull out one’s own hair.
While it’s unknown exactly why Kat frequently touches her hair, the TV shouldn’t be teased for what could be a coping mechanism as a result of filming such a high-profile show.
“I recognize it as a sign of an attempt to cope with anxiety,” a fan defended. “I don’t judge people for how they try to self-soothe.”

He reportedly popped the question in Mexico during the finale and are still together in November 2023. They follow each other on Instagram but that is expected for co-stars; John Henry also follows Olivia Lewis.
