Mandy Moore has a brand new look — but it’s also awfully familiar.

Just a day after wrapping up the filming of season 2 of This Is Us, Moore has already gone for a major hair overhaul. The star, who has been sporting brown hair since she landed on the hit television show, debuted a blonder, shorter look over the weekend, thanks to hairstylist Jenn Streicher.

Maintaining her brown roots, the star went for bright golden blonde highlights at the ends of her hair and a choppy cut, which is a major change from her chestnut waves.

“I’m slowly morphing into @streicherhair,” Moore captioned her reveal photo on Instagram, acknowledging that her new look is similar to her hairstylist’s. “Now if I could only master those ‘cool girl’ waves all on my own. And yes, I wasted no time changing up my hair as sooooon as wrapped up the season on #thisisus. As you do…”

But if the look seems nostalgic, it’s probably because it’s a nod to her ’90s self. And while she’s not quite as blonde as she was in the “Candy” video, we’re still getting old-school Mandy vibes.

The star, who is the face of Garnier hair products, told PeopleStyle that she loves how hair can transform a person, though she didn’t indicate that a blonde makeover was on the horizon. ” “The power of transformation is something I’ve always sort of [embraced] in my life and I think the most acceptable way that I have found to do that and change my look is through hair color,” she said. “But I feel like [my current color] is more compatible with my lifestyle now and how busy things are — and I feel most like myself.”
